샌프란시스코 베이에어리어 한인회(San Francisco Bay Area Korea Center)가 피오나 마(Fiona Ma) 캘리포니아주 재무장관의 리더십과 공헌에 깊은 감사를 표하며 향후 지속적인 협력을 다짐했다.
샌프란시스코 베이에어리어 한인회는 최근 성명을 통해 마 장관의 헌신적인 공직 활동과 비전에 경의를 표하고, 한인 사회를 비롯한 모든 캘리포니아 주민들이 존엄과 희망 속에 살아갈 수 있도록 주 정부와의 연대를 강화해 나가겠다고 밝혔다.
김한일 회장 (조나단 김 박사, Dr Jonathan Kim) 한인회장은 “강한 리더십과 긴밀한 협력을 통해 모든 주민이 포용되는 번영된 캘리포니아를 만들어갈 수 있다고 확신한다”며 “북부 캘리포니아 한인 사회를 대표해 마 장관과 함께 더욱 밝은 미래를 열어갈 것”이라고 강조했다.
이에 대해 차기 캘리포니아 부지사 선거에 출마한 피오나 마 장관은 도내 58개 전체 카운티를 순회하며 주민들의 목소리를 경청해 왔다고 화답했다.
마 장관은 “주민들은 캘리포니아가 더 살기 좋은 곳이 되기를 원하며, 특히 생활비 부담 완화와 소상공인 규제 혁파, 세금의 효율적 집행을 간절히 바라고 있다”며 “평범한 가정들이 미래를 일궈갈 수 있는 캘리포니아를 만들기 위해 부지사로서 앞장서 싸울 것”이라고 약속했다.
